Captain

Look at this custom font for Susanna's opera! By me! It was fun, but I've got about 13 more letters to go.

WIP...

Susanna, a long time friend, is a brilliant composer. She is currently writing and putting on an original opera for her graduate thesis. Here is a poster I have been working on for her.

Season's Greetings!

A bit late in posting this, but this was our holiday card (designed by me of course) for 2017! I started listening to Christmas music in August. but kept it on low for Corey until after Halloween.  There's a large circular cut on the front of the card, and the picture was an insert. After a lot of fussing, Corey took my idea for "y'know, a compass but with a knife" to heart and actually managed to make one out of a foam stamp, a needle, Exacto blade and a bit of hot glue.

Autumn Patch

Nearly forgot to post my fall card! I moved right on through to Christmas.

Happy holidays!

My holiday cards are now available at the Centre for the Arts in Bristol, PA! Check out them out along with the rest of this fantastic gallery if you have a chance.

Mara

Corey designed Mara, a Triton druid, and asked me to try my hand at her as well. Tentacle earlobes 100% Corey's idea and I love them.

Here's a quick pic of the page I did.

Introducing SAKE Comics

I'm fortunate to be the illustrator for SAKE Comics, a collective of independent artists who create original short-story comics.  Our other two members are Elaine, a writer, and Susanna, a composer and colorist.

SAKE represents a fully collaborative, creative team that explores a variety of narratives, styles and ideas. As such, our roles and what we put out may vary from project to project, but no matter the subject-matter, we focus on compelling ideas combined with memorable places and people.

Our premiere project is called 'Hipwrecked, and it will be posted shortly. This story follows a handful of intrepid sailors as they attempt to navigate the trade world. More often than not these days, however, they tend to be stranded on various islands after being shipwrecked by aggressive fate.

Fun Fact: These characters were originally created about 10 years ago, and Susanna is currently writing an opera based on the character she created then!

Veggie Fighters

A set of veggie warriors created for fun. Here we have the Fungi Fighter, Peabrawn, and Radish Swordman.

My Dogs

I have two Shibas who I completely love and do not draw enough of.

Mt Rainier

We lived in Seattle for about 5 months, and were pretty broke for most of that.

With this sabbatical though we spent a lot of time in parks, just enjoying the amazing sights no matter what direction we looked. There's something calming about perpetually smelling pine and seeing a mountain looming over any given horizon.

I created this piece as an entry into the Kenmore Beautification project, a local contest for artists to create work that would decorate some industrial drums by a lake. This experience left me with a great souvenir of our time in one of the prettiest places in the world-- a wonderful new piece of art and an opportunity to show my work at Kenmore City Hall.

There and Back Again Card

It took us 5 months and 6,378 miles to move from Savannah, GA to Alpharetta, GA.

We opted to go the scenic route, taking 2 cross-country road trips.  We thought initially that we'd move to Los Angeles.  After eating gratuitous amounts of the foods that we could not get in GA, we decided to move on.  We are lucky to have friends in OR and WA, so we meandered our way up the coast where we eventually settled in Seattle.

We ended up back in GA anyway.

I made this to commemorate those 5 months. It was tough at times, but always a good learning experience and a lot of fun.  We discovered a lot about ourselves, as artists and Americans. We want to thank all the people, friends and family alike, who generously helped us along our journey.  This double-sided card represents our way there and back again.

Odd Logic Brewing Co.

This past January, I got to help out on an exciting project by Marc Dubus and the Odd Logic Brewing Co.

Bristol Borough, PA is a picturesque town outside of Philadelphia that has gone through the good and tough times that comes with having a rich history.  They have been welcoming a lot of positive change in recent years, and were recently selected as the winners of show Small Business Revolution.  Odd Logic Brewing Co. (which makes amazing stuff) is going to open up by the riverfront in an old car dealership. While they're revitalizing the decades old building, they asked local artist Marc Dubus to paint the front windows.

If you ever find yourself in Bristol Borough, I also recommend checking out the Centre for the Arts. It's a wonderful space and holds some phenomenal work by a variety of local artists (Dubus's included).
